Mon Repos Turtle Encounter

Mon Repos Turtle Encounter

The Mon Repos Turtle Encounter is the only ranger-guided turtle encounter on the east coast, and it plays an important role in turtle conservation studies, particularly for the endangered Loggerhead turtles that visit this beach. At Mon Repos Conservation Park, get an unrivalled look behind the curtain of a natural wonder that has been thousands of years in the making. From November to January, take a ranger-led tour of the Mon Repos Turtle Encounter to see mother turtles lay their clutches of eggs. The newborn turtles begin their deadly journey into adolescence in January – March, forming a road to the ocean for them as they begin their dangerous trek into adolescence, with just 1 in 1000 turtles making it to maturity. Come see a miracle and make memories that will last a lifetime at the Mon Repos Turtle Encounter.
